Portfolio
My Art work falls into a few different categories that I feel can be useful to different clients. With this in mind I have divided the galleries up to keep the collected work in a consistent visual theme, and to better help you find what you might be after. You can click either the images or the gallery title to enter the relevant portfolio.
Digital Illustration - House Style
Inspired by comics, heavy metal subculture, video games and horror movies, here is where you will find my most recognisable style and my preferred working method with most clients. Although I prefer to work in Black and White as a stylistic choice I am always open to colour work in this style.
This style of art works great for Merchandise designs, limited print runs, book and movie covers and record sleeves.
Previous clients have included Lost in Cult, Laced Records, Devolver Digital, Sewer Rot Records, Whang! and more.
Concept Art - Game/ Painterly Work
Here is where you will find my more painterly or conceptual artwork. This style of art works great for Game Art, Character or Environment design. Gameplay Concepts/ Diagrams or general Creative Direction.
Previous clients and studios I have worked with include Magic Leap, Coatsink, Auroch Digital, Snowcastle Games, Nosebleed Interactive and more.
Traditional Work and Sketchbook
In the oppressive age of AI Art and Generated work I find myself less and less inclined to involve myself with screens or digital art at all, and more and more I find solace in creating art with my hands the old fashioned way. This work is mostly inspired by old Death Metal fliers, Zines and Band Merchandise, Classic 2000AD Comics and older Manga work from artists such as Otomo and Shirow. This style of art works great for Comics, Private Commissions, Posters and Zines and Gifts/ Portraits.
Previous clients in this style have included Sewer Rot Records, Soul Devourment, Throatgrind and more.
Pixel Art
Outside of general illustration I am often working on my own solo developed indie videogame projects, a lot of which is often done in a pixel art style, such as my 2019 game Deadeus. I pride myself on my knowledge of how pixel art works on classic gaming systems and have often lent my knowledge on the matter to clients working on their own projects. This style of art works great for Merchandise designs, Niche gifts/ Stickers and ongoing Indie Projects.
Previous collaborations have included Magic Leap, Just Add Monsters, Spacebot, Incube8, NaraMakesGames and more.
3D Work - CG Renders/ Game Models
A long career in the games industry has taught me that adaptability is key, and learning some 3D skills have helped reinforce my concept work. I have also used 3D work in my own independent game projects but it is a helpful tool for block outs and visualizing perspective in my illustration and concept work.
UI Art - 2D Design for Games
My career in the games industry has been predominantly spent working in the UI/UX area of the development cycle. In this gallery you will see a few examples of my work you can find out in the wild currently. Previous studios I have worked with in a UI capacity include Magic Leap, Coatsink, Auroch Digital and more.
